I'm not sure what it will take to resurrect interest in "fixing" the voting system. BC came within a hairs-breadth but missed the first time. Ontario wasn't very close. BC's second attempt was a disaster.
It's not an issue people are willing to take on. I'm not sure what it would take to make it one.
To be entirely fair, Dexter has come closer than those in recent memory to a genuine majority government (45% of the vote). If I'm reading the numbers right, a more proportional result wouldn't have made a huge change to the balance of power -- about three more seats each for the Libs and the PCs, as well as one seat to the Greens. So, maybe there's some room to push there?
That said, it doesn't seem to be high on his priority list.
True, it is closer, but no cigar as they say. Dexter got over 50% of the seats with 45% of the vote. Only in FPTP is that considered a "majority". I agree, reform is not on his radar, and that is too bad.

I think it will take a "majority" government with the will to ram reform through. The referendum route is a dead end.
