Shorter DiManno

Sure Oda lied, and she should be fired, but at least she put the boots to a bunch of God-damn Communists and Jew haters, posing as Christians.

I love the way DiManno uses the old "I'm not saying they are Anti-Semites and Communists but...." routine. It is smear at it most primal. Rosie should stick to writing love letters to the military. True, they are pathetic, middle aged adolescent twaddle, but at least they are amusing.

  1. For a minute there, I thought you meant Christie Blatchford.

  3. In the aftermath of 911, I couldn't tell whether Blatchford wanted to go to war or get laid. I wonder if Peter Mackay or Stephen Harper--what happened to pscyho steve, by the way?--are aware of the YMCA/In the Navy vibe underlying their photo-ops with uniformed men? I'll bet Hillier was.

  4. He is still Psycho and I suspect you are right about Hillier.

  5. Anyone who votes Conservative would support putting the boots to Kairos in terms of public funding. It isn't even a question.

Oda screwed up, she ought to go, but it looks like the PM isn't going to give way on the issue. Makes for a potential integrity campaign come election time, but I doubt we'll see any movement on it before then. (Still, you never know -- Guergis got tossed rather suddenly.)

  6. Ben, I could live with the Conservatives saying out front that they dislike giving money to KAIROS for ideological reasons (I would fight it, but I would at least be fighting an honest opponent) but they don't. They get themselves into fixes like this because they pretend there is a non-ideological reason for their actions.

  7. As with many other things political, the deed itself was fine -- the weaseling is what did the damage.

  8. Well not fine, but at least intellectually defensible.
