If You Take Quebec Out Of The Mix...

It is a phrase I am hearing Conservative pundits, using more and more, most recently on Power and Politics a few minutes ago (Joan Crocker insists that without Quebec, Canadians were evenly split on Iraq). It is an inane stance, since Quebec is a part of Canada and so there is no leaving Quebec out of the equation. This is a dangerous trend and it makes Conservatives seem sympathetic to the separatists, who also want to take Quebecers out of the Canadian conversation.

  1. As a life long proud Quebecoise, I can honestly say, particularly since the Harpercon majority, I am less and less attached to federalism.

Yep, I will be voting for Mme Marois next provincial election, as much as I can't stand her. She's the only one who can give Harper any serious head-aches and make sure that we do indeed exist.

Contrary to the belief of many western cons, we too, pays federal taxes!

  2. During the last referendum, Conservatives such as Ezra Levant were very much on record calling for Quebec separation as it would improve Conservative seat counts immensely.
